Short bio

Małgorzata Wachocka is a hospital infection prevention specialist in Rome. Since 2009 she has worked in hospital hygiene and infection control at a leading Italian university hospital, and since 2008 she has taught prevention professionals at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. Her research covers Legionella and water safety, construction risk, device reprocessing and hand hygiene.

Long bio

Małgorzata Wachocka helps hospitals turn infection-prevention rules into daily practice, and get ready for the digital and AI tools that will support it. For seventeen years she has worked in hospital hygiene and infection control: surveillance of healthcare-associated infections, environmental audit, Legionella and water safety, indoor air, controlled rooms and construction risk. She co-authored a proactive environmental surveillance model, an expert-built checklist for endoscope reprocessing and a hospital-wide study of hand hygiene knowledge. She has taught on the prevention health professions degree at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore since 2008 and is teaching coordinator of its first-level Master’s in Safety and Risk Management for Public Health. She speaks Italian, Polish and English.
